Herbst Research technology solutions are divided into three technology platforms:

Control Platform — customizable precision control systems for biomedical and instrumentation applications

Herbst Research Control Platform is a unique, customizable system that allows for measurement and control of both linear and non-linear processes. Various physical parameters such as temperature, pressure, flow, pH, etc., can be controlled by the system. Potential applications include Intelligent Electrical StimulatorsTM, drug delivery systems, bioreactor controllers, and robotics. Herbst Research received $2.4 million NIH grant for development of Intelligent Electrical StimulatorTM with Sensor Capabilities!

 pH Measurement and Feedback Control SystemTM

Using Herbst Research proprietary software and National Instruments hardware, a pH Measurement and Feedback Control SystemTM based on our Control Platform was developed to make it applicable to a large base of already existing instrumentation and data protocols. The system consists of a pH meter with an automatic temperature compensation (ATC) built in and with a precision control loop controlling micro pumps.

 

Signal Platform — customizable electrical stimulator/signal generator instruments and SoC

Herbst Research Signal Platform consists of multifunctional electrical stimulators and customizable electrical stimulator SoC.

Multifunctional Electrical StimulatorTM

The Herbst Research Multifunctional Electrical StimulatorTM is an easy-to-use, flexible and highly customizable stimulator for biomedical research applications. Based on experimental needs, the stimulator can be manufactured in specific user-defined configurations with a custom combination of signals and number of output units. The stimulator is also easily upgradeable to accommodate changing research needs.

Both timing parameters and output signal amplitudes are set digitally to assure excellent system accuracy and reliability. Output units can be either voltage- or current-controlled, and several identical or different output units can be combined in parallel. All outputs are isolated from ground and can be optionally isolated from each other.

 

Digital Timing PlatformTM —leading programmable digital pulse generator System-on-a-Chip (SoC).
